does the new minimum wage law effect sombody that gets commission on top of the hourly pay? if it matters i live in missouri.I am a mechanic for sears i get 5.50 an hour and 23% of what i fix.

Nope. Won't make any difference. Your boss isn't even obligated to give you a base salary. I used to run the floor in a shop in TN. Worked for Flat Rate, which is a commission, and made more than most folks make on a commission with base pay. Just get good at what you do, and it won't matter if you're getting $1/hr or $8/hr. The real money is in the actual work. Though Sears is probably not the best place to do it.
