What would you suggest for a slightly bigger reptile than a green anole that isn't too fast or too difficult to care for that is easily handled to show in a classroom, i like the size of baby iguana's but i know they get much bigger and they are a rather big responsibility after a while. I'm considering bearded dragon, water dragon, or lepard gecko, but are there any suggestions closer to my specifications.

Out of your list I would go with the Bearded Dragon. A friend has one, very friendly and FASCINATING.

try a New Caledonian Crested Gecko, they're really cute, easy to handle, and friendly. they come in a few colors and can change colors. they get to be up to 10inches. you can easily find care info by doing a google search, so look into it, they're very cute and would be a big hit with kids.

Kilye anne is right, you could also consider crested geckos, I'm getting one for christmas, they look awesome and have similar care to the leopard gecko but they dont need special lighting, heres some care sheets

I personally would go for a snake. A small python or boa far more fascinating. And great fun to hold!

i think snakes are nice reptiles, they are easy to handle, don't smell, are very quiet, easy to care for and are very friendly. if you wanted a snake and wanted a small one, then i would recomend a corn snake for a beginner unless you don't fancy feeding it dead mice and rats. garter snakes are good for beginners as well and only eat worms, insects, snails and slgs and strips of fish. their is also egg eating snakes which only eat eggs and i have heard they are around $40 and are nice and friendly.

All of your named possibilities are lizards, so I'll keep it there.

I'd consider, if I were you, Horned lizards (horned toads, popularly) , Chuckwallas, or Eastern Fence Lizards.
