Normally, I am almost 100% on the side of labor over management. However, I would have to know what your views were, If your views prevent you from doing your share of the work...thus someone else has to pick up the slack by doing their job and yours, maybe you should be treated poorly or even fired.

This wasn't really a question but, no you should keep your personal views and your profession seperate. It's fine to chat and make friends at work, as long as it doesn't interfere with your productivity, but don't get into any pollitical or deep discussions at work. It's just bad form.

At SOME jobs, you get fired for loitering. Standing around talking about your political views may match your interpretation of free speech, and your managers' interpretation of screwing off and stirring up trouble. Know thyself...

Depends on how obnoxious your views are, and how often you try and shove them down people's throats...maybe you are the problem?
