I tend to get really really emotional, irritated and sometimes angry before my period. I tend to blow things out of proportion. Is there anything I can do to control this better?

I noticed I got really really depressed and angry on Tri-cyclen Lo... so the doctor prescribed me the original Tri-cyclen but I'm kinda scared to take it. Maybe I should try Yasmin instead?

The BCP controls mine, but I don't have PMS, I have PMDD (Think PMS x 1,000).
When I am taking Yasmin, nary a tear, no mood swings and I honestly feel good during that time when I am normally unbearable, even to myself.
Yasmin works the best for it, to me, because it has a fairly consistant hormone level. Some of the pills, I think the tri-cyclens, don't. I get INSANE on the tri-cyclens LOL

You could control anything if you really wanted to. Like turning a light switch on and off. I get really emotional as well around the time of the month. I cry over anything!

When my angry side starts to come out and I'm taking it out on other people or myself, I take myself away from the situation, and usually go out for a quick run or walk my dogs. Helps to calm my nerves and forget about my hormones.

PMS sucks, Im right there with you girl! But you should try that out :) Good luck!!!
