Okay I could be wrong but doesnt all of the violence involving drugs come from money?
so wouldnt there be less violence if drugs were legal and the people who do drugs didnt have to go through the money hassle and dealing with the violent drug dealers and such?
i mean if people can go into a bar and get a few shots of tequila, why cant i go in a bar and buy a spliff?

It would just be classified differently. Assault is an assault whether it was drug induced anyway. A criminal is a criminal. If they have to use violence to get what they want they will, then you have to factor in there are just flat out evil people in the world with or without drug usage. Drugs are harmless until they are used so to blame an inanimate object for crime is at best short-sighted.

I agree with the previous answers,a criminal is a criminal,it could be tennis shoes or a PS3,who knows why they do what they do.Anyway you look at it,a drug is a drug also, and why would we want to put more intoxicated drivers on the road,to kill innocent people. There was a Swiss experiment about this very subject. The Swiss decided to open a park for drug addicts and let them do what ever they wanted. It was called "Needle Park".It was a open air market in the park and all drugs were available for purchase and the government provided free needles. It was a disaster, the tourist who came to Zurich complained that they seen addicts fall dead several everyday.Soon the Swiss closed the park. The key is education.I am a recovering addict and I have been clean for 12 years. If you had told me that cocaine was legal I would be dead, instead of answering this question. It starts at home and at school.People need to know that drugs kill people. So does alcohol. When I got clean,I owed money to drug dealing thuggs and dared them to try and collect it.I told one guy that I had spent my last penny on his crap and that-if he didn't leave me alone I would have him busted. To this day he says hello how are you when I see him.Peace!!!

Yes. If they were legal, we wouldn't have to put up with a drug dealers fighting over money. Someone that doesn't pay up or snitches on them. That could be grounds for murder in some of their eyes. We could just go to the store and buy it. The dealer wouldn't make any money so he would have to get a real job to survive or find some other illegal business to make money.
It'll never happen.

Of course there would be less violence. The only thing the US government is good at is managing the distribution of drugs for profit. Prohibition almost resulted in America being taken over by organized crime. Besides, America's drug laws were originally enacted to punish Hispanics and Blacks for being Hispanic and Blacks.

The American government was afraid that white women might be attracted to Black jazz musicians and that when Blacks smoked pot they "thought they were as good as a white man".

It was just an exercise in racism to keep the minorities in their place.

Of course! There is not ONE person out there who chooses not to do drugs simply because they're illegal. Not one. Legalizing them would only SOLVE problems and save money, but don't tell that to the government.

Legalization of drugs is valid if people will submit themselves to regulation.
