What questions are asked and answered, to make up this topic (please and thanks, make an effort to put it in plain language)? And what are some good books you've read about it?

You can create a philosophy of anything with five basic questions:

1. Is it true?

2. Is it good?

3. How do we know?

4. Why do we care?

5. What do we do about it?

If I were going to develop a philosophy of emotion, I would ask:

What are emotions? Are they just chemical states? Can we list them and define the characteristics of each one? Are there other types of internal awareness or feeling that would not be included in a list of emotions? In what sense can we say emotions are real? Can we measure them physiologically? How much importance should we give them, say, compared to thought? Are emotions a form of intelligence? Should we cultivate our sensitivity to and awareness of emotions, or should we learn to ignore them? Can we control our own emotions? Is life better and richer with them, or without them?

"Philosophy of emotion" is the educated concept of why, and how there is emotion.

"Science of emotion" just deals with the chemical and physical causes and effects of emotion.
