Some cartridges come with tape or a plastic piece that keeps the powder inside the cartidge while it's being transported. Maybe you need to look at the instructions and see if you have to take off more stuff.

The issue you are experiencing is may be due to the improper communication between the printer cradle and the cartridge contacts or may be due to the defective cartridge.
First ensure that you are compatible cartridges for the printer.
However, If you are using compatible cartridges for the printer, then please visit the following web site and follow the instructions to clean and align the cartridges manually.

Now once again try printing.
However, If the issue persists then this could be due to the corrupted printer drivers.
