We love Players in Lakewood. The food is always really good . . . . creative but not too fancy. The wine list is excellent and the atmosphere also. You could also try the White Oaks Inn. It used to be an underground hang out during prohibition and still has some great character.
For more middle of the road selections, Famous Dave's has great BBQ. The Moosehead in Westlake near the border of Bay Village is a fun place to go. The food is pretty good but the atmoshpere is great.

my opinion it is Macaroni grille , outback is also good.
