The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl movie has defintely borrowed scenes from an adventure game called "The Monkey Island", by LucasArts Entertainment Company. Captain Davy Jones' character and his tentacle beard is comparable to the beard of Captain LeChuck, a ghost pirate from the Monkey Island series of videogames.
I have played the game series and have found it to be very interesting. You can buy them online at the LucasArts site.

It's a ride in Disneyland That named Pirates Of The Caribbean...and The Movies Based On It!!!!U can see in the end of Movie..

My understanding is it's based on the Disney Land ride of the same name. But, since the movie came out there have been lots of books, comics and magazines.

no, its originally based off a ride in Disney World.

um, no, its based on a ride. but there are comic books based on the movie that i found at hastings.
