I came from work at 2am and my boss just sits around a computer crunching numbers/ doing GOD knows what while I stand all day cleaning tables and picking up trash....my feet and back hurt.

sigh....

so I dunno, Im gonna work really hard and get that promotion.

This is the best question ever. Thank you for posting it.
1. I learned for the millionth time that you can't make someone do what's good for them.
2. I learned that I will go to incredible depths to procrastinate. (Aka what I'm doing right now... how much time can I spend answering this question...)
3. I learned for the second time that embarazada (Spanish), is not a cognate- - it doesn't mean embarrassed. In fact, every time I claim I'm "embarazada", I'm really telling everyone I'm pregnant.
4. (Don't know if this is true, it's just what someone told me) That Koala's fingerprints are so identical to humans that they could be confused at a crime scene. (Sounds like a great start for a really disturbing children's book... )
5. (saved the best for last) I learned about Milgram's experiment in Obedience. Google/Yahoo it and check it out if you aren't cool enough to know about it already.

I learned that if you stand up and hit your head on a shelf, the sensation does not improve with repetition.

I also learned that I have a an strange fascination with stamped, colored concrete.

I also learned that the rocket was introduced operationally into european warfare circa 1810 as an artillery weapon. It was tremedously inaccurate, but so destructive that the sheer firepower was worthwhile.
