the green spot on his stomach is caused by is the rupture of the lineing of the stomach, you should NOT have fed him for a week or so BEFORE going into hybernation as his body slows down, so does his metabolism and there for the digestion process....the food in his belly fermented at a speed faster than that he could digest it at, resulting in his death.

Sorry about your loss. It happened because as the weather started to get colder, the food hardened in his stomach, though as you said it was green it could have rotted leaving the trachea. Keep with the owning though, Happens to the best of us.

I was told by an expert in reptiles that most reptile owners do not have proper lighting. Apparently they need both UVA and UVB and he said the lights that are sold in pet stores are not adequate.

As a result, the reptiles are getting metabolic bone disease.

i'm so sorry to hearken to of your loss. I certainly have 5 and might't image residing without them. you recognize you fairly shouldn't bounce into something suitable now. furnish your self in basic terms quite time. you have each and each factor you like for a dragon and that's my first decision. I certainly have leopard geckos yet then they're nocturnal and don't desire the extreme temps or the UVB undemanding. My water dragon is in basic terms eye-catching yet you will possibly might desire to replace your substrate, upload a small little pan for water and decrease back shrink the temps yet you're able to desire to apply each and each factor else. i wish you recognize so you might use prevalent kin bulbs for heat temperature extremely of checking out to purchase for those high priced so reported as basking bulbs and that way you're able to alter your temps. good success yet whilst certainly considered one of my might desire to circulate this night, i'm going to be finding for yet yet another here day!

A vet could explain all the causes !!
Reptils need uva, calcium, vitamins, correct food, and they need too, a person who care it !!!
That is all i can say !
Get informed, go to vets, and search information about them.....

Reptils die when people do not know much about them !!!

Sad story !
