http://asia.com/ is a pretty good resource for finding all your options. I've flown all the Philippine airlines inside the Philippines and find them adequate. Crossing the Pacific is different. I would recommend avoiding American carriers. ANA gives good service, Singapore Air is O.K., Air China is O.K. The best is probably ANA, but they are also the most expensive.
You do not say where in the US she will going. This will be a looooong flight (maybe greater than 24 hours) regardless. Arranging a real stopover en route with a hotel might be friendly.

i just got back took philippine airlines to manila then had northwest airlines to japan then to seattle great people and food on plane i would take that one had no problems at all
