Are the spurs one of the best drafters in the nba?

In their entire franchise history, they only had two lottery picks and those two were: David Robinson and Tim Duncan. They were also able to get late to second round gems like Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Late first round pick Beno Udrih is good as well, he just needs some more time. They were also able to get good international talent like the fundamentally sound Fabricio Oberto plus they still have the draft rights to Luis Scola who could really help them if they decide to bring him in

Point is they always made the right decision and even though they don't get lottery picks they are able to get players who are pretty darn good

The Spurs have amazing scouts that's why they're such great drafters, they especially like the international players. Parker and Ginobili were steals!

well they were dead set no brainer no 1 picks, but i had to agree with tp and manu, the rest are good due to the system they play in, put them in a memphis jersey they'll look like stiffs.

But i think the suns have been the best for a while now, to pick amare in that draft was outstanding, barbosa was another good one. The other team that has always done well at the draft, but that's more an indictment on their past is the clippers, very good judge of talent, but just a bad organization until now, some of the players they had ad than lost, even the roster now is filled with good talent, and i think they got the best player in the draft last season with livingstone, so they're there, but it's more to do with how much a team sucks, so they can get a good position.

Please. Drafting the admiral and duncan were no brainers. they were the hands down first picks no matter who got it. the spurs were lucky to get them.
