The thing is Drew, as a parent, it is difficult to be true to your children and like one more than the other; however you can like one child's behavior than the other. My three sons fought about this with one another all of the time - even to this day; having a dislike for one because they assumed I liked the other more. I took special aim to have quality time with each one separate from the other. I never purchased more for one than the other and I certainly attended all of their functions. I made sure to make each one feel special, having grown up as the middle child of seven and feeling sort of neglected, my self.
So it isn't that a parent has a favorite - it is a more likable behavior. My brothers and sisters assumed that I was more liked than they were but I know it was my behavior they liked. I followed the rules and respected my parents to the fullest, whereas my other brothers and sisters were rebels and challenged my parents often.
So we do love all of our children the same. There are no favorites but there are those, whose "good" behavior we appreciate more.

Hi Drew, I have 2 growth daughter. One knows where, and what she wants in life, and work's very hard to get there. The baby seems to be more mix-up, and don't know one end to the
other. She tries, but something inter-fears,and the whole day is shot. My girls' are alot different than each other, which is the way it should be. I love both my girls in the same way.The baby, she does try to help me out at times. The oldest lives in oregon. She calls me every saturday,to see if everything is okay. Both my girls' love me,and i love them to. A single parent.

Each of my children are special in their own way, but I love them all equally. My oldest was my first born, so she is special. My second was a boy, he is my only son, so that makes him special. My third was my tom boy, so she is special. My youngest is my baby, and she will always be my baby, so that makes her special. So you see each of them are my favorite in their own ways. I love them all the same. I may not like some of the things they do, but that does not make me love them any less.

I tell my kids the truth. I love the one who caused me more grief more, because I fought harder to keep her alive. But then, my kids also have their favourites. My older daughter lies to herself about it as well as to them, but they know.
