Basically a Bonsai is a small aged version of a big one and that's accomplished by trimming the baby tree's roots. Some of these Bonai trees are 3 and 4 hundred years old and are passed down from generation to generation. If your truly interested you should purchase a BOOK to get a picture on how to trim.

For starters, you do not make a Bonsai tree, but you can grow one. And are you planning to grow a bonsai and then cut it down with your Samurai sword?
