Absolutely untrue.
Thats a egoistic approach that views ourselves as being superior to others. I believe that if i think I am incapable of setting the vision for the country, it would be better if someone more capable and visionary takes the governing role and lead the country to better times.
However, we should draw the difference between governing and participating in politics. Participating in politics means to have your opinions heard, be it superior or inferior. It does not eqaute to governing.
Voicing your opinions is good, but governing should be left to the most capable people. Plato referred to the masses running the government as "the mob governing". How does that sound.. haha.. food for thought.

Yes very true! Participating in your community is important and being a part of voting as well as keeping updated about current news and events.

Whoever said that is very snotty. I assume that he/she is referring to the fact if he/she didn't run for office then a dumber person would get elected instead? I don't buy that at all.

If instead they mean that by not voting you are governed by your inferiors, I still don't agree. Whose to say that the inferior is the person who is not voting?
