Go out and try to understand somebody...

I believe the best answer to this is you are only as alone as you percieve yourself. Romantic love is not the only way to be truly understood by another person. As you grow older, I think you realize that the parts of you that other people don't understand is the most unique part of yourself. I think that at a time in your life you will find someone that you love and loves you back and what is love but complete understanding.

This question could be mine - that's how I feel.

Am I always going to be alone? So far, the answer is yes and I am now 54 yrs. Is there anyone who is going to understand me? So far, the answer is no - I mean in the sense of completely understanding and accepting me as I am.

Why is it this way? I really don't know. Sometimes I think it is my fate.

I answered your question by answering about myself.

Does that mean I didn't understand you and you are alone?

i prefer to stay alone most of the time. ofcourse it's nice to have company every now and then, but i'm personally not after any understanding. no one understands me and it doesn't bother me.

i'm not a complete loner, i just prefer to do things on my own most of the time.

so to answer your question: maybe, maybe not... but who cares. you are who you are and if people don't understand it then so what. it doesn't always result in loneliness anyway

For every man there is a woman but don't expect understanding. That will never happen. So, you might as well get used to it and conduct yourself accordingly.

"We" as in humanity? No, I don't think so. Will another sentient race understand us? Probably not. But we probably won't understand them either (we don't understand whales and dolphins and they're sentient races).
