If you agree to everything in the divorce you can use the same attorney, now days most judges set the child support according to the pay. They take what he makes and what you make to come up with the dollar amount. If you don't want to use his and can't afford one just tell the judge your situation and he'll either get you one pro-bono or he'll just take care of the support end of it. You also need to request that the Father have to maintain health insurance on the child and split child care cost. If the child is in school I'd ask for a clothing allowance too. From watching what's going on with my daughter I'd also recommend putting a cap on gifts. She's a single Mom of 2, one is not his and( the ones Dad doesn't pay anything) the one that does pay goes crazy buying expensive gifts, making my daughter feel bad because she can't afford to spend as much as he can. Example he's spent about $500.00 on gifts for the one ( for this Christmas)where she's lucky if she can spend that on the both of them.
Good Luck.

hmm well if you are taking care of the kids, most states it is required for him to provide child support. But if you look around, im sure you could find a lawyer who will take you and if you win and also get child support they can also make him pay for your lawyer bills, just like a personal injury guy they only get paid if they get you money, and since you are entitiled to it child support that is it shouldnt be to hard to find a lawyer just look around, most local areas you can consult with one with out any fees

It varies from state to state, but you may be able to petition the court without the aid of a lawyer. Contact your county court, they will point you in the right direction. Good Luck!

press charges againt him (non-support) & you dont need a lawyer honey ,but in the long run he might, plus thats just more money that he is gonna have to pay, so let him do what he has to do, but you make sure he does what he is supposed to do "PAY HIS CHILD SUPPORT!!" YOU GO TO THE COURT HOUSE IN YOUR TOWN,CITY OR WHATEVER & TELL THEM YOU'D LIKE TO PRESS CHARGES AGAINST YOUR EX 4 NON-SUPPORT & GOOD LUCK, YOU CAN EVEN CALL THE LOCAL DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES/WELFARE DEPARTMENT & ASK THEN FOR SOME ASSISTANCE IN ENFORCING CHILD SUPPORT

sweetie if you have the kids then it wont matter. the courts will decide about the child support not your ex or his lawyer.
