I'd have to say Jesus. Not just in a believers sense have I learned allot. Jesus' life set forth a good example for me as to how I am to treat other people. I have benefited greatly by following His teachings.

My mother -- she was one of a kind -- literally. A teen during the Depression, she CHOSE to work and put herself through College -- a time when women that age were expected to get married, pump out babies, and stay home ... then WWII intervened, and she started her Route -- for you see, she was a speech therapist and a Teacher -- and her Route was to the rural schools in Michigan -- taking her from one-room schoolhouse to another -- going via snowshoes, horses, carts, whatever she could get to be able to make it to the next school. She also worked with returning disabled veterans, who had speech and language problems due to their wounds .... and went and obtained HER Master's Degree ...
Then ... after the war -- one of those disabled vets called -- My father. To the day they died -- they were together.
She was only 5 ft tall, but quite the dynamo. It was not extraordinary that someone that tiny, with grey hair and that old was MY mother -- but it was definitely hard to NOT explain to the teachers that this is MY MOM and not the Grandma!
It is with constant sorrow that we (my siblings and I) lost our parents while we were very young adults ... and they never were able to see how they influenced our hard work and our own educations, much less see our homes, and what we made with our lives -- and our Military Service.
So ... my Strength of Character, the Hard Work that has been a Hallmark throughout my life, the ability to SURVIVE and thrive despite all the obstacles in my path, and the ability to quickly analyze and determine possible solutions, and the way I stand up to adversity (and defend the underdog or victim) is what I LEARNED From my mother.

Other than God Himself, my mother is my best & biggest influence. She taught me everything that I would need to be a good person. And most importantly...she taught me about God.

That is a huge question. The answer is men. From my father & brother to a man I dated and the "man" that raped me. I have learned: not to take crap, not to trust men, that the best defense is a good offense, that I am seen and treated as less intelligent than I am unless I declare myself, to question and doubt love, to doubt myself and my judgement. There is more, but I haven't paid for this therapy session yet.

As a child, my grandmother impacted me the most. I learned from her to love life, mother earth, and God.
As an adult, Jesus has had the most influence.
