Geothermal power is utilising the heat of the earth to make steam to turn turbines, or using naturally occurring steam. Its advantages are that it requires no fuel (and thus no greenhouse gases) to gebnerate electricity. Disadvantages are limited availability - it is only available in limited parts of the world. You generally have to drill a very deep hole. The steam can also have many other dissolved compounds which can be highly corrosive.
