Okay... way before most of you knew who panic! at the disco was, i loved them. But, now that they are popular i just...lost my...respect for them! Same thing with fall out boy. all american rejects. Shiny toy guns. Etc. Afi is popular, and have been since sing the sorrow came out, but i will never stop loving them, they've been my favorite band since i was 9 (about the time the art of drowning came out.) Am i being stupid? how come i stop liking most bands when they find fame, but it just won't happen with afi for me? are they just better than the rest? or am i just being judgemental? haha.

Often when bands get popular, you suddenly hear about them constantly on the radio and their hit songs get played over and over. Personally, I usually get burnt out and sick of them if the media is constantly shoving them in my face.

No, as long as the band keeps its integrity and musical innovativeness, I like them regardless of their popularity. Metallica has been popular for years, but still kicks a s s. Some people liked No Doubt 7 - 8 years ago, but now Gwen Stefani is a complete sellout loser phony pop singer. The groups you like tend to be on the pop side, so it is probably less of a push for them to sellout than for a metal group whose music is more on the dark side of the force.

That's because alot of bands change with growing fame...look at Limp Bizkit...when they first came out they were hard rockers, but Fred Durst was a sellout. It also has to do with your inner psyche...you may just be the type of person who doesn't want to listen to what EVERYONE else is listening to.

Its probably based around the fact that they were nobodies before.....and subconciously its possible you may feel that they sold themselves out....but hey isnt the fame what most people get into the industry for in the first place? put yourself in their shoes, then tell me what You would have done......
