It would seem that minoritites would have me feel bad about being anything other than whatever they are and even worse about being white. Is this the best means of combatting racism that people can come up with?

well Dave...
I haven't worked in over five years, my wife was latina. And I didn't get with her because it was the in thing to do, I got with her because she is freaking HOT.
Slanging rocks is the only thing that I could do to feed my kids for a long time that wasn't stealing or something immoral. And maybe I didn't "come up in da hood" but my kids did for the first 5 yrs of their lives.
Amd my English may be proper(on here) but my spanish is PURO BARRIO(pure ghetto to you).
And I gotta wonder if you and lance shouldn't get together and kill two birds with one stone.

Black to brown to yellow to white was the change of colors, acc to genome studies.so whites are latest and think they are superior.of them some think they are superior among themselves. In dark india there is lot of caste feeling seperior and inferior!!! In white world i read there is color diff.!!! So now as a dark man i find i am,was no less that any of any color wherever in the world i was, but there is a subtle feeling running undercurrent in all all societies up and low acc to color and caste. That is Racism. We have learned to live w it. In Zambia 1980 the whites bathed in the same water and took privilege to associate w blacks. But in S>Africa the same era, there was color bar!!!

Why would you even ask that? You are white not by choice but by birth. You had two white parents, ergo, you are white. Some minorities do seem to want white people to feel that there is something bad about being white. That is just ignorance on their parts. You should be more concerned with things such as are you a good parent, a good friend, a good son or husband or brother. Do you treat all people regardless of race with decency and respect? Those are the important things. If you practice those things then the people who have a problem with your color should not concern you. It is their problem not yours.

Don't feel bad. American racial definitions really are confusing. Anybody whose ancestry stretches back for any length of time on this continent is probably of mixed ancestry regardless of your skin color. You may have more in common genetically and culturally with the black guy sitting next to you than you have in common with the "white" Russian immigrant behind you. Eastern European immigrants weren't considered white until after WW2. Our shared culture, language and experience unites us as Americans. Worrying about what race you are or someone else is ...That's a waste of time. Don't feel bad.

No. Sometimes people say the most ridiculous things. Making these statements does not combat racism and if someone is racist, generally they don't change. Don't ever feel bad about your race. I am Black, and no matter what anyone says, it is what I am and I have to be proud. Anyway, I couldn't change my race even if I wanted to.

I'm white, but what difference does it make?
I've got news for everybody...I don't care if you're red, white, yellow, green, or some other color in between, God is there for ALL ppl. As long as that fact holds true, there's nothing else that I'm gonna worry about!

You should not feel bad about being white. However, if you think being white makes you better (or worse) than anyone of a different race, you should feel bad about that.

no you shouldn't feel bad about being white. do you think a goat feels bad about being a goat??? it's life. you are not responsible for what your ancestors did. sounds like the minorites are having more of a hang up on their own race then you are on yours. get over it we're past all this racism stuff at least we ALL should be it's only skin deep

You shouldn't feel bad. The best way to go is act indifferent. It will make you look cooler. Like:
"How is it like being white?"
"It's cool."

WHY let your 'peers' force you to feel this way? thats absoutley silly. You 'ought' to be thankful for 'who' you are....NOT WHAT you are. I dont care if people thought I was weird cause I was purple....Im thankful Im alive here, living and WHO I AM!

No one should feel bad about their ethnicity. Unless you're blue, of course. I hate blue people.
