it is very normal that second pregnancies (and subsequent pregnancies) you cervix remains slightly open. Especially if you had a vaginal birth first time around. i wouln't worry! Good luck you are very blessed!

Cervix is fine, mine was a "slit" open through out. Nicotine patches are a big no, no they will provide way to much nicotine into the blood stream of the developing fetus. Cut down on the smokes normally, it shouldn't be too hard you just had a baby 3months ago so the longest you have smoking again is only that. Good Luck, & Best Wishes

Normal to have cervix slight open so soon after your first delivery. As for the smoking thing, have you tried quitting on your own.? Patches can be used but at lower doses. You are still giving baby nicotine (BAD) so try just quitting without them. Congrats on your decision to quit!! Great thing to do for your health and BOTH children. Give it a go, if no success ask your doctor to prescribe the patches. do not start the nicotine patches without consulting with your OB.

I would imagine the doctor would tell you if that wasn't okay for you. I was told by an OB that they'd rather have you use nicotine patches while you're pregnant than smoke because you still get the nicotine without the rest of the chemicals in cigarettes. But obviously, they'd rather you didn't have anything at all.

This is not uncommon, especially just having a baby and are pregnant again. Do not worry, this happened to me twice and all was fine. Just keep regular on your doctors appointments and do not strain with anything, the body can handle anything it is use to while pregnant and not harm the child at all.
Congratulations!

I dont suggest the nicotene patches...dont know about the cervix thing..I would certainly contact my OB and see what they suggest...or say about that situation..your OB can also help with the stop smoking (suggestions)....I use to smoke but....I guess I am just one of those people that can put them down and walk away....I have never understood addictions....cuz will power wise...I can just stop doing it...good luck.

stop the frikkin smoking NO PATCH that just feeds the fetus nicotine, and i'd be careful not to lift anything too heavy with a partial dilation
