Some people will say yes, some people will say no.

I however will say, that is a decision only the person raped can make...

I do not know what decision I would make as I have thankfully never been in the situation....

I am pro-choice meaning I believe each woman has the right to choose what is best for her.. If I had a friend in the situation I would neither condemm them for having an abortion, nor exalt them for not having an abortion.... I would however support thier right to choose and thier ultimate choice whatever that may be....

i was 16 when i was raped and became pregnant as a result, i did think of aborting but what would that have accompished? killing an innocent child , not to mention how i would have felt, being raped was bad enough but an abortion would have been adding insult to injury. it doesn't make sense, i thought of adoption and the day i had him and looked into his face, i knew he was my son and mine alone, we were victims together in this. i dont' regret, he is 13 yrs old now and sometimes he asks about his father and i tellhim i don't know where his father is, i will never tell him the truth about how he was conceived because that wouldn't accomplish anything either. i feel like if more women chose to carry the child then in the end they will love it and it wouldn't matter how the child was conceived, there is NEVER a good reason for abortion

My opinion is yes it is, it is not the child's fault either and to me this would be punishing another innocent victim. Now, I am not saying the woman should keep the child, there are many people who would make great parents and cannot have children. So for my opinion adoption would be the better route. Also, for medical reasons, if one would have an abortion it reduces the chances of getting pregnant when they are consensual by 20%. The only advice I would give for this situation is for the person to weigh out all the pros and cons and decide what they feel is best, it is them that would have to live with the decision, no one else.

I dont normally get into these conversations... but tonight I think I will, i know rape is wrong, but did the baby ask to be a product of rape... I dont think abortion is right, and yes we have the right to choose but the baby also has a right to live.

And looking at a child from rape is a hard thing to do, cause your reminded everyday from it, but dont punish the child, for a man taking your sexual right away. The child did nothing wrong.

And for woman who use abortation for a form of birth control, if your old enough to spread them, then you take responsability for the life you created.

(sorry if that stepped on anyones toes, and I didn't post this to start an argument)

You are asking for opinions and with a question as topical as that - i am sure you will get some heated ones.

Dont use other peoples opinions to justify your decision (if this has in fact happened to you or someone you know). We dont have to wake up each day and live with the decision either way.

Abortion is abortion regardless of how the child was conceived.

As a adult... I would carry the baby to term & put it up for adoption. If it was to happen to a 10 or 12 year old ( Iam right to life) I would have to re think my values given the situation. Good Question

well I think that it is o.k for you to fell like you would want too but morally it is wrong if it s not and incestuous example when my cousin was 13 she had an abortion because her father got her pregnant but when her daughter was 16 and walking to her grandmas house in the middle of the day was raped and got pregnant now her daughter is almost 3 and she loves her no less then her son she just had in a loving relationship so it just has to go to your taste I will not say abortion is good or bad sorry I can't.

omg! i dont know what i would do if i got raped then pregnant. Because i wouldnt want it to be honest and abortion is murder because the child is already living the heart is the first thing working..i think i would give birth to it and give it up for adoption. but idk just hope that doesnt happen..

Why should the baby have to pay the penalty for the sins of her father? The baby is the woman's child as well. She will feel better knowing that she chose the compassionate road for her child, and didn't add another violent act on top of the rape. She dosen't have to raise the baby...she can give it up for adoption.

Myself I would never do it, and when it happened to me i didn't.

I have a 5 year old daughter, and when I look at her, I see nothing but who she is. She is a blessing, she changed my life. I don't look at her and thinkor see a product of rape. It wasn't her fault.

i guess not all women are as strong as me though. I still think there are better solutions other than abortion. I mean there are plenty of couples who would love to adopt.
