Defiantly you should pick up "The Sims 2" for the playstation 2. The Sims 2 is a simulation game about real life. Players create and play with their on created characters as there character grows and lives there life. The game features real life situations including break-ups, finnace problems, marriage. Just name any situation and the game will have it. Alot of females love to play with this game. Think of it as a more mature barbie game. The teens will enjoy it. Plus its VERY addictive.

I second Katamari Damacy. I have all three and love them all (2 on Ps2 one on psp). They are lots of fun, highly addictive, and can be multi player.
I enjoy puzzle games and Super Bust a Move is another addictive and fun one. The Sonic the Hedgehog compliation is also really good if they are old enough to remember Sega (I'm 24, so I'm not sure). It has a lot of fun platform and puzzle games and is only like $20. I think it has like 10 diff games on it.

+Final Fantasy X-if she likes Role-playing games
+Kingdom Hearts-if she likes Disney movies, its a game set in a FF/Disney world
+If she liked old-school games, Sonic mega collection is a great idea.
