Which do you prefer? A nice guy or a jerk / bad boy? The reason I ask is because I'm doing a study on relationships and attraciveness, and since I'm a guy I wanted to get a female's perspective. Would you rather have somebody who's just nice and honest, or do you tend to go for the bad-boy type who bends and breaks all the rules? Thanks in advance for the help. :)

Everyone says the nice guy. My boyfriend is the nice guy that was too shy to talk to me at first. In the past I've been definitely more attracted to the rebel, the jerk, the bad boy. Sometimes I tell my bf, "why cant you just be an a s shole?!" (instead of being so passive all the time and doing what i want.) i think someone with both attributes is ideal!!!

A sweetheart of course! ;D Bad boys are untrustworthy, and since they have no respect, assuming, what makes you think they're going to show any respect towards you, at least for long? Sometimes I see a "bad boy" and pity them, or wish I or someone else could show them love, something else besides messing around, breaking the law or guidlines, living a useless life, but that's what God does, that's where he comes in. From experience, my own observations, and since there have been times a while before when I was interested in guys like that, I knew I could not trust them, not matter how bad I might have been interested in them.
I believe..what a waste of life! To just spend your only lifetime going around and being arrogent, unkind, missing out on love, good fun, and such a clear, beautiful, and such a fruitful life! Maybe great fun to them is wrecking things, but that's not living, not truly living. Maybe that's rebellion, short temper from lack of discipline and maturity, or happiness and fullfilment!
I also find the nice guys to be the true men, or right now for me, GUYS! They tend to be loyal, truthful, stronger people, who are put together more, and mature in relationships, being upright and confident about themselves. I love that. I am not the type who goes on wims, who decides to adopt a new guy as my boyfriend every week, or when they get restless, know that my heart will be broken, or go out of my way to keep them occupied, so I feel out of my comfort zone, not really being my own self. How could I stand being in the company of someone who sets just high-standards to where it's tiring and miserable? No way! I'd only know that if I didnt do my job then I would have low self esteem for myself! Who wants that? No one does Im sure! (I hope!)
As much as I pity those street roughers and wish they had joyful fullfilment, I prefer love over lust. Lust is cheap!

When i was younger I dated a lot of so called bad boys,but it was through those bad boys that made me know what type of a person I wanted to share the rest of my life with,and that was a nice honest level headed guy.

For me, I'd say it's like what Jean Grey (sp?) said in X2. The "bad" boys are hot and fun, but you don't take the bad boy home with you! In the long run, the nice and honest, trustworthy, dependable guy is who I would want.

I think every girl is attracted to the "bad boys" to some extent! They're fun and you never know what they're going to do next! Especially if they wear leather jackets and ride a motorcycle. But at the end of the day, I think every girl truely wants/needs a nice guy. (including me!)
