Women can wear different colors but it has to be pulled off right. If it is for a job interview and you are going to wear a suit, I would probably stick with one solid color. For business professional I probably would not wear a cami under the jacket but instead wear a button up shirt. Skirts are NOT necessary. I would wear pants. Nothing form fitting at all. Your colors must be conservative also. A darker color suit maybe. It doesn't have to be black. Just don't wear light Springy colors. Make sure your hairdo keeps your hair out of your face too.

From what I've read men should dress in a suit and tie. Women should also wear a suit. Skirts are better than slacks but if all you have are slacks than make sure that they are dressy, business slacks. Different colored jacket and slacks are OK as long as they look good together. Wear appropriate shoes and makeup. Don't overdo. Don't wear evening clothes (cocktail dress, etc.). Don't take your kids or boyfriend (girlfriend).
I know someone who used to do hiring and you wouldn't believe some of the ways people show up for a job interview. One girl brought her boyfriend who sat in the room with her during the whole interview--she didn't get the job by-the-way. If you can't find a babysitter for the interview why would the interviewer believe that you could find one when you get the job.
Be business like and look conservative. Even if the business isn't conservative don't show up in jeans and a T-shirt.
Remember, if they have the job and you want it, then you need to do things their way.

as long as you are wearing pants/slacks with a jacket you should be fine. Try not to wear bright colors or anything floral. Closed toe shoes. Grey jacket with black pants is fine. Skirts are not necessary

"business professional" means you have to wear suit. It is o.k. to wear jacket and pants in different colors. Wearing skirts are the best to go for interview.

They can wear slacks and a different color jacket, but both pieces have to be nice, and the shoes need to be dressy.

I would say that would be ok. I would check with the companies HR department. They will usually give you more information on how they want you to dress.
