Allergies usually imply an antihistamine. I also would tend to need a decongestant.

So Clari tin-D (D for decongestant) worked great.
Allegra worked better for me as a antihistamine .. but adversely affected my sex drive - it went to zero instead of improving.

I am not taking these now.
I generally take 1 benadryl in the morning.

benadryl is one of the best anithistimene, but it can make you drowsy .. people's milage vary from almost no effect to pretty seriously sleepy.

Claritin works for me, so do Benedryl and Pseudafed (this would be a weird answer if I went with spellcheck on these!)

If you're talking over the counter, you may be referring to Benadryl, that is a pretty popular one.
