Start by gassing the car and when she starts to spin turn the wheel the way that the rear is going and keep on the gas.
If you're fish-tailing, you've got to steer the way that the rear is going to maintain some control.
Good luck!

If you have a rear drive car, turn the wheel and hit the gas. If you are on a really slippery surface you may need to reverse that order, build up a little speed start the turn gradually then crank the wheel around. If you have a front wheel drive car, do the same thing with the transmission in reverse.

Find a large, empty parking lot and practice the previous suggestions. Some will think you are goofy for playing like that, but it really is good practice for driving in snowy and icy conditions.

if you drive a rear wheel drive, just gun the engine and yank the wheel one direction. Front wheel, same thing in reverse.
