Hi,

As Chirstmas comes nearer, I want to know what I should ask for. A Wii or Xbox 360? I am not interested in the PS3. No games really stand out at me and I'm not thrilled about Blu-Ray that much to get a PS3. Xbox has Xbox Live and better graphics than the Wii. But the Wii has the motion sensoring. Any one with any of these systems, please give me advice. Also recommend good games.

I just saw the Halo 3 world premire commerical (on ESPN Monday Night Football December 4, 2006 at 8:10PM) and it looks amazing. And I am interested in Saint's Row, Deadrising, Perfect Dark Zero (huge fan of the first), and GTA IV. But I have always been a Mario/Zelda fan my whole life and the motion controls look like a lot of fun. I am still confused.

Looks like the Wii is supposed to have an online community and a lot of internet features. Go to their site to check it out.

The Xbox does display in HD if you have an HD set to hook up to. The Wii is standard definition only.

One thing I've been hearing is that the Wii is being found to be really fun by those who have not been all the much into video gaming. They seem to have worked on simplifying game play and making it more interactive, and more fun, rather than improving graphics like the other systems.

Nintendo Wii
Pro:
1. $250
2. Play old school games
3. Free online play
4. Innovative controller
5. A few good exclusives
6. Very small and compact
7. A bunch of controller accessories
8. Exclusive Mario, Zelda, and Metroid.

Con:
1. Not very powerful(last gen graphics)
2. Because online play if free many 3rd party games will not support online multiplayer
3. Doesn't support High Definition.
4. Extra $ for controller accessories
5. Doesn't play DVD's(that I know of)
6. Will need a year to work out it's bugs

Xbox 360:
Pro:
1. Great Graphics
2. Xbox Live is better than ever
3. Super comfortable controller
4. Has gained many 1st and 3rd party publisher and developers.
5. Great games
6. Bugs have already been worked out
7. Peter Jackson(director of Lord of the Rings and King Kong) will be working exclusively with Microsoft.
8. Metal Gear Solid 4(the PS3's killer app) has been rumored to be coming to the Xbox 360.(this months issue of EGM)
9. Microsoft may be trying to by Capcom(Resident Evil, Dead Rising)
10. Great accessories
11. Can play Xbox games
12. Exclusive content for GTA IV

Con:
1. $50 dollars for Live, but is totally worth it.
2. Can't play all Xbox games, but most of the good ones are playable, and more are becoming available.
3. HD-DVD player is extra, but is one of the best looking
HD-DVD players out there.(in my opinion)

Either way you go you can't make the wrong choice. I would suggest getting both. This year ask for an Xbox 360, Plenty of games are out, most of the bugs have been fixed, and its an all around good system. Next year ask for a Wii, most of the bugs will have been worked out, there will be a wider selection of games, and there will probably be some consoles available.(other than Ebay)

If you or whoever hasn't already pre-ordered a Wii, you won't see one until March. Go with the Xbox 360, for now.

And you sir are wise for passing on the CRAPPY PS3. I hope that the Gaystation losses the console war. All hail Nintendo and Microsoft.

I'll recommend some games, but I'm asking the same question also..

For Wii, Wii sports is awesome since it teaches you how to use the controller and the whole family can play various sports they like..
Zelda Twilight Princess needs a nun chuck attachment but it's also really cool, and the best Zelda series out..
Excite Truck is also an amazing racing game since you use your controller to control where your truck goes, the land rises and decreases and you get amazingly high jumps from bonuses..
Raymond is a very funny game about you smashing evil rabbits the most hilarious ways..

for the 360..

Halo 3 is an upcoming and the last of it's kind, it releases on around 11/4/07, and it's being hyped to the max.
Gears of War is a very good game with a new kind of duck and cover, along with the horror movie style kind.. Also a very awesome shooter.
FEAR is a Japanese horror/shooting/action kind of game, it's very awesome.
Ghost Recon AW is about a team of special forces known as GHOST that goes into Mexico City to defend the President and find the missing leaders etc etc, I heard the graphics of the city is AMAZING on HDTV...

As you can see, Wii has more family style where everyone can play and enjoy kind of games. None of those guns and gory scenes which non gaming parents disapprove..
Whereas the 360 is for hard-core gamers who likes mature content like shooting games, military oriented.. etc.. Horror like games, and overall futuristic shooting games such as GoW and Halo..

But yeah, the problem with me is that I'm sort of a tech junkie and I love awesome technology and multimedia.. (I'm also not interested in the PS3).. But I'm also the fun loving guy who likes exercise and new things, so I'm the 360+Wii kind of guy and since my parents aren't gamers I can't really buy both.. *cry*

i would deffinetly go with the xbox 360 hands down. Better grpahics and better games. i was thinking about gettin the wii but it doesnt have many features and no games stand out. the motion sensing is pretty cool but i like a regular controller more. it is easier to navigate menues. xbox live is awsome and the 360 has so many great games coming soon and already has a bunch right now. Gears of War, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Call of Duty 3, Rainbow 6 Las Vegas almost all of the games are awsome.

I'm getting Wii. Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 were focused all on graphics and resolution. Wii was focused on actualy gameplay and fun. If you are a techno freak and want to play a movie, then get xbox360 or ps3, but if you want to have a lot of fun and enjoy videogaming, get wii.

your right ps3 doesnt hav many good games, it is overly expensive, and sony is cruel only releasing about 500,000 units this year while nintendo released about 4 million of the wii. with the 360 vs. wii dilemma; 360 has way better graphics and has more media options, the wii however is less expensive and has a different gaming expeience howver has mediocre graphics and lacks multimedia features. i hope that this helped you make your decision because its going to b based on what u prefer; extreme graphics vs. different gaming.
