The ones you are picking out are the ones who are probably newly vegetarian, and who have become so out of some reactionary moral viewpoint. Many of these, just starting out have no idea how to eat a healthy vegetarian diet. They are missing a number of vitamins and proteins.
A good vegetarian diet is every bit as healthy, if not moreso than the typical American diet, rich in processed and artificial elements.
True, the human body is designed to be able to consume meat. Eating meat involves killing animals and some people find this both wrong and unnecessary. All that is required to sustain a human body can be found without eating meat, so it makes sense that some would choose to live this way. Most meat products are grown in unnatural and unhealthy ways with typical meat products containing pesticides, drugs, hormones and other products that the human body WASN'T designed to eat.

I think that those are the ones who are not eating enough meat replacements with protein like beans, legumes, and nuts or foods with omega 3 fatty acids like flax and the monounsaturated fats like in avocados. Some people think that as vegetarians they can just eat veggies, but they have to eat foods that have the oils and proteins that they are lacking from not eating meat. To be healthy, vegetarians need to make conscious decisions about the foods they eat, with a proper well balance diet vegetarians can be even healthier than us meat-eaters.

I know exactly what you are talking about. But I do know some vegans that look good and it's because they make sure they get all their nutrients. The key to the problem with meat is we need protein in our diet. But you can get protein many ways including by eating beans. So the pale people aren't making sure they are getting everything they need to be healthy.

I cannot beleive you just said that. You are judging an entire group of people based on your biased crap opinion. Vegetarians often choose not to eat meat for noble causes, and NO it is quite possible to be a healthy vegetarian by eating lots of protein. There is also less fat involved in the diet.

because they do not know what to eat and arent getting the proteins ect they need to thrive... not all veetarians look unhealthy if they have educated themselves in what to eat or vitamins to take to make up for what they arent eatting...
meat should actually be eatten in very small amounts people are different ... some peoples bodies actually do not metabolize meat well so for them it would be unhealthy... you need to find what is right for you... things that maybe healthy for one person may not be for another

Well, I don't know about whether they look healthy or not ... some do look a bit off-color ... but the real q that should have been answered and researched by now is "Do they live any/much longer?", and "Do they get about as healthily as they claim they should be for all their sacrifice?"
"DO they get equal joy out of life?"
They are the key Q's

My new sister-in-law is a vegetarian, she didn't use to be until she was in high school. since then she's started looking paler and scrawnier. There are certain nutrients that you get from meat that you CANNOT get from any plant.
