So I'm a huge fan. I started watching the first season by renting the DVDs on netflix and I got really into it. So I continued to rent them all the way through the end of season 3--and that finale was so awesome! I then decided to buy one, and picked out season 7 since it was the last one. Omg, so much had changed that season for me. It was really good, even if a lot of fans said otherwise.
So, I took a little break from Buffy DVDs because I got busy with school and working and now I'm getting back into it. At Circuit City they have seasons 4, 5, and 6 for $34.99. So which one should I get? Which was the better season? Why? Which you you guys recommend? I'll probably eventually get all three, but for now I'm getting just one. Is one of those three like a MUST-HAVE first? Anyone of them one to steer clear from?

I would recommend you season 6.
The "once more with feeling" episode is wonderful. You really have to watch it.
In my opinion season 4 is the worst. I didn't like the big bad and Buffy's new boyfriend was really boring. But in this season there is "Hush" the best episode ever. 40minutes completely soundless...it's amazing.

If you are a true fan you should watch from beginning to end. That way you go in order and you don't miss anything and end up wondering why things happened the way they did. Maybe that's just me. I don't like to skip around. I did the opposite of you. I bought the first three seasons and I rented the rest from Netflix. Buffy is an awesome series and I'm sure you will enjoy whatever you decide.

buy the box set and then buy angel box set with all the seasons for its always fun to watch it again and again.
