Dermarest can be used if you are pregnant: look at the box. :) It's really good stuff.

Ask the Dr to be sure but Arbonne makes some great products that help ease eczema. Go to the website and look up Skin Conditioning Oil and Rejuvenating Cream. My daughter has a bit of eczema and after many Rx, etc, I tried Arbonne...put it on rather thick and covered it with a bandaid...the next day it was cleared up...all but a little pink spot on the skin. I was AMAZED. It's worth a try and if you find an Arbonne consultant in your area, she may be able to provide you with samples to try. Good luck!!!

Our son had eczema as an infant, and his pediatrician recommended the following:

After he's had a bath, and his skin is extra-moist, rub the affected areas with a thin layer of Vaseline.

We did this with our son, and on his next well-baby visit the pediatrician asked if the eczema had come back.

"No," my wife said, "I did what you suggested and it went away in a week or so."

The doctor looked shocked and strangely moved.

"You mean you did what I recommended?" she asked. My wife nodded.

"Most people never do this," she said. "It's not high-tech or fancy enough -- no prescriptions, no expensive solutions, nothing to brag about. It just works."

So... if it's safe for a baby OUTSIDE the body, it's safe for you to use on yourself while the baby is INSIDE your body. Just be careful about the temperature of the water in your bath; if you get too hot, it's not good for the baby (but I'm sure you knew that.)

You have to go with your dr.'s advice on that one. The usual cortisone creams cannot be used during pregnancy. I have psoriasis, and when I was pregnant, had to stop all treatment and just use regular creams and lotions.

My dermatologist told me that steroids would cause a cleft pallet in a baby if I got pregnant while I was using them for a skin condition.

You can use Vitamin E oil and if that isn't strong enough you can use 1% hydrocortisone cream. I just buy E capsules and break them open and squeeze onto skin.

Talk to your dermatologist just to be safe. Skin conditions frequently pop up during pregnancy. Just double check to be sure :)

My OB told me as long as it did nt too bad to use Luberderm lotion (available at the drug store). If that does not work as your OB or see a dermatologist.

Have you tried Bio-oil?

Alternatively, Vitamin E is natural and worth a try.
