J.F.K. even though he was before my time I still think he was a greatest personality to grace the office. From being an Annapolis grad, war hero with PT-42, Camelot, the Cuban Missle Crisis, to the tragedy of his death he still stands out as a great president and personality.

I'm not sure how Clinton is considered a good president. Remember the lying and Monica thing. I would have to say George Bush Sr. He was well spoken and extremely smart. Plus he a really nice guy. My husband and him have gone fishing a couple times at Bush's library on the Texas A&M campus.

I know that many people tend to say Abraham Lincoln, and I'd hate to sound redundant, but I have to pick him too - not merely because of the things he did for the country, but because of what motivated him. He truly believed in the dream of our founding fathers, and come hell or high water he was going to keep this nation from falling apart, knowing what a great risk it was to his life. That was a brave and faithful man.

But following in close second, I'd have to say John Adams. Long before he became president he was the representative from Massachusettes to the Continental Congress when we were just British colonies. He did two great things. First, he fought with Congress repeatedly to declare independence from England until they finally gave in and made it a Congressional voting issue. I do not believe America would be a nation today if it were not for him. And secondly, when the South walked out of Congress in anger over the anti-black slavery article in Jefferson's Declaration of Independence, John Adams fought tooth and nail to keep that article intact, and he sadly consented to its removal only when the South absolutely refused to sign unless it was removed. When the article was stricken from the Declaration, John Adams said, "Posterity will never forgive us." I love him for his truly righteous convictions, and for loving all good things that Americans have come to love about America. The national bird (eagle) and the anual celebration of American independence with fireworks were his idea. His beloved wife, Martha, was also a national hero.

Had America become a monarchy, I would have proudly served them as my kings.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (F.D.R.)

He was a great statesman and coalition builder. He changed the face of politics and made it more of what we know today. He was also the only president to be elected three times. He guided the U.S. through depression and world war. And who can forget his "Four Freedoms" speech. It still guides many aspects of foreign policy today.

George Washington; he wasn't corrupt with political ties. The people decided they wanted a ruler and choose him. Then he stepped down saying if you serve more than eight years it seems like them you get into a monarchy. before that he wasa war hero from the american revolution so i do think George Washgington was the best president!!!
