I saw this play in 1983 when it was on Broadway and it is a great show with wonderful lines and is sure to be a crowd pleaser. I would look up old reviews in the NY Times to see it. Linda Ronstadt performed in it.

There was a movie version with Linda Ronstadt, Kevin Kline, Angela Lansbury, etc. It was pretty horrible, really, but it has been on cable recently, and a video store might have it.
