Anything Dora the Explorer or Spongebob. Also most kids that age like barbies, myscene dolls, bratz dolls, baby dolls, and stuffed animals. It is very easy to make a 7 year old happy with any gift.

I don't recommend Bratz dolls for any age child, but if the child really wants one, go for the new line of "bratz kids". They are not the ugly little babies, and they don't dress like they are working the corner, like the "adult" bratz dolls do.
I have 2 daughters- one is almost 11, and one is going to be 5 this month. I don't specifically recall "girl" 7 (I have a boy who is almost 8, so I do recall "boy" 7!), but I think around that age my older daughter was still asking for Barbies (she can't stand em now), art supplies, coloring books, Junie B books (books about a little girl in 1st grade), movies like the Barbie movies, she wanted a Furby badly, too, but that might have been a few years before that.
One year, we got Raegan (my older daughter) a disposable camera, a gift card to Wal-Mart photo department worth enough to get double prints made, and a small scrap book. My aunt got her fun stickers and papers to use with her scrap book.
This gave her a fun gift, and something she could work on for a while, and keep forever. Some of the pictures didn't turn out the best, but some turned out great. She loved it. And because it was a disposable camera, it didn't cost us much, and we didn't have to worry about whether it got lost.

When my nieces were seven I used to get a gift box or gift bag, and fill it with lots of little stuff. Hair bands, bangles, craft stuff, photo frames, art stuff. Lots of little girly things keeps them interested on christmas day. My nieces used to love note books and pencils. This year they're eleven and they are getting a bead set so they can make their own jewellery. That would be okay for a seven year old. Personally, I'd stay away from the bratz dolls - they look like big-headed paris hilton miniatures and i don't think anyone needs that! But kids do love them, so each to their own, I guess.

A diary or blankbook with a beautiful design on the pages and a pack of colorful gel pens and pretty pen holder
A small jewelry box with an inexpensive but cute necklace inside.
A whole pack of bangles in a rainbow of colors. Flavored lip balms in a cute tin container.
A 3 foot tall stuffed bear.
Books-The Secret Garden, Little House on the Prairie, A Little Princess, fairy tales
Puzzles-with unicorns or fairies on them
Coloring books and a new 64-pack of crayons (the kind that has that neato sharpener built into the back)
Army men if she's a little nontraditional (seriously, I loved them at that age)
A badminton or tennis set if she has anyone to play it with her.

Kids her age seem to like Dora the Explorer. Sponge Bob. Rug Rats. My son at that age was into Barney. If you want to help her expand her love for reading get her books on her level that she can read. Also kids her age love baby dolls as well as Barbie. Figure out what her interest are and get her something that relates to that. Hope that helps.

Bratz Dolls
A purse
Play make-up
Play jewelery
Easy bake oven
Baby dolls
Dress up clothes
Fun girly things for her room...bead curtains, matching bedspread and sheets and pillow case, fuzzy pillows.
Something like a recorder she can sing in a listen to herself singing.
A kids favorite songs cd.
Hope these help. All I can think of for now.

I would get the Bratz fashion board game or an over night set.. they come in a whole bunch of different designs and come with a sleeping bag, pillow, cute lamp thing and back pack to keep it all in... that's what I got for my 7 year old niece for her birthday and she loved it... she uses at sleepovers and every time she stays with me or at her grandparents house.

Girls that age are usually into girly stuff like purses and Barbies. Kids also like having their own money so a giftcard to a toy or book store might be nice.

A lot of stores have gift guides online. You can go to www.amazon.com, www.target.com, www.toysrus.com, or www.walmart.com and select the age range of 5-7 years old to see gift recommendations.
