I'm not sure about the system over there, but where I come from, as long as the cheque is in your name, all you need is your I.D card to show to them, and you can get the cash. They won't ask anything but they make you write down your name, i.d card no. and phone no. on the back of the cheque if anything happens. As long as it is a valid cheque, it should be no problem where it came from.

Well you could always use a check cashing place, but they will charge you a fee. You can also usually go to the bank of the person who wrote the check if you have a local branch in your area. some cautions: be careful, as sometimes people will write out a fradulent check and when you cash it, you can be under suspicion for fraud. Also, the check may come back with insufficient funds, and you don't get your money. However if you can't get the money using these methods you will probably have to open an account. If the person online wrote you a check and you are supposed to mail them something, wait about a week before you send it out. It takes both banks (yours and theirs) several days to go through all of the steps of taking money from their account and putting it in yours. Once the funds from your check are "available" then you are probably free. If you are going to be doing this often try to use Paypal or some other method of payment, checks are not very good when it comes to protecting yourself!

You will have to prove to the bank where you try to cash the check that you are who you say you are. (Driving license or passport.)
You will probably have to pay a fee for using their banking services. (The bank takes the risk if the check bouncing and then tracking you down to get the funds back.)
Having never had an on-line check myself, I don't know what sort of problems there could be with it.

You might want to consider opening an account similar to Paypal. I know there are people who don't like them because of their fees, but they take the risks for you. ; )
Best wishes.

If it's a payroll check, you should be able to cash it at the bank it was issued (ex: Bank of America etc)
If it's a personal check, you might be out of luck because most banks want the check to clear before you get the cash . . who's to say you didnt write yourself a check from a stolen checkbook and are trying to get cash?
Sneaky people have ruined it for honest ones :)

2)No need to submitt any cheques online.
3)They will not ask any single question & u dont need to answer them!!

Make sure the check is under the same name in your government issued identification.

Take it to the Bank who issued it.

The Bank probably want all information about you that can be easily confirmed.
