An average sized comet is less than 50km across... but this is still bigger than the estimated 6 mile diameter of the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs. So - if a comet hit Earth it would mean one thing... Mass Extinction.

depends on how big of a comet, that would determine the magnitude of distruction.
