I really don't want to buy $100 shoes, so I wanted to know if you could put them in any shoe. I looked at the Nike+ shoes at the store, and I didn't notice anything special for the sensor.

no. all you need is a place to put the sensor on your shoe. You can tie it to the top or something

I have not looked at the shoes myself, but, supposedly there is a compartment built underneath the insole to accompany the sensor. Normal shoes are lacking this extra space and it may be a litle uncomfortable to put the sensor in there.
