This list could go on forever, you need to be more specific as to country/culture/time period, etc. For instance, in Spain there is El Cid Campeador, Don Quixote, Casanova (not the one you're thinking of, this is the Paul Revere character of Barcelona), Don Pelayo, and so on. For modern Americans you could throw in Aquaman and The Human Torch if you want to, while modern Americans who are members of the Dakota tribes would tell you Iktomi and an Ojibwe person would suggest Waynaboozhoo. Finns would suggest Vainamoinen.

...... Do you have any idea how many there are?
Achilles, Hercules, King Arthur, Robin Hood, Oddysseus, Perseus, Tristan, Taliesin, Theseus, Jason, Belepharon ....
Honestly, there are so many, I could go on for hours. Stories of great heroic deeds have been told for millenia.
