South Carolina is not very expensive. Decent house around $85,000.00, utilities low, car and health insurance low, doctors and dental fees moderate, hospital fees always outrageous, they have yearly car taxes which are going down steadily because of voter complaints, unemployment moderate for population, but if educated good job prospects.....I've just left there and moved to San Antonio Texas and man what a change in economy....It's outrageous here....I should have stayed there.....Happy hunting....Also the internet is great source...google best city economies and see what you get......

If you don't need a mall to shop in, or a Cracker Barrell to eat in, then "Beautiful Downtown" Winfield, Alabama is the place to be. Taxes are low, cost of living is low. We do have paved streets and a walmart! This is where we "slowed down" because we have relatives here. I hated it at first, but I got over it.
