Nuclear medicine is a very general topic and one that will not be easily studied. There are numerous areas in nuclear medicine and the information is endless. You should break the project down to a more workable level such as cardiac nuclear medicine, or other area. Meanwhile...

nuclear medicine use gamma rays instead of alpha and beta rays... like the sun, we gain some vitamins from it's rays...ultraviolet rays are filtered by the ozone layer and converted into a less reactant matter... what isotopes you say???...some scientist use uranium as a nuclear matter... it is also the same thing that are used in some nuclear warheads... just e-mail me at ervin_monroy@yahoo.com for more questions... have a nice day!!! ;-)

1 gamma

2 i think there's one called technesium (not sure if thats the answer ur looking for, not really sure on this one)

3 use of alpha or beta radiation near the body can cause mutation of cells which can lead to cancers and radiation sickness
