Alice in Chains
The lyrics are truly meaningful.
Layne had a truly gifted singing voice.
Their music is still very powerful.
I'm a Nirvana fan too, but they were too much into abstract lyrics and it's harder to attach meaning or sentiment to any song by them, because they'd always give the song some twisted meaning. However, this doesn't make them any less talented.

Holy Crap, I was supriezed people listed good music.
Pearl Jam is pretty damn good (my second fav band)
The Best is Alice in Chains a Grunge Rock band
Staind is very good too, their main influence is Alice in Chains (they made a tribute song to AiC singer)
