it sucks that they took it out of hockey arenas because Gary Glitter was supposedly a rapist

It is Gary Glitter.
However, a few arenas in the NHL (namely Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Dallas Stars, plus a few others) have banned the song since Glitter was found guilty as a child sex offender, a case relating to child porn etc.

Yeah in San Jose RRP2 has been taken off and replaced by holiday. You should see everyone trying to say hey at the right time.

Rock and Roll Part 1 is played in Nassau Coliseum (where the Islanders play). I guess they have nothing against sex offenders out on the Island.
