could anyone think of any besides table salt (NaCl) ?

Any salt, such as potassium chloride (KCl), Sodium bicarbonate (Na2CO3), etc are ionically bound. Most things bond to carbon covalently (e.g., CO2, CH4, etc). Metallic bonds require a metal, such as UF6. (uranium hexafluoride)

Ionic: salt substitute KCl, drain cleaner (lye) NaOH
Covalent: ethyl alcohol CH3CH2OH
Metallic: aluminum foil Al

the copper pipes that you have for hot water can be a metallic bond, because copper is mixed with another metal to fourm the pipe.
