Apparently it's pretty easy for people all over the world to get student visas and study in the US for free. Most of the doctors I worked with at the hospital were from other countries, and got grants just for NOT being a citizen . . . kinda sux for people like me who need a grant since I have 2 kids and work full time and can't get help . . .
I've actually considered moving to another country, becoming a citizen, and then coming to the US for school :)
You might google it - most likely each school has a specific requirement, so their website would have that information under the admissions area, if not, you can always contact them USUALLY by email.

I have absolutely no idea what that person is talking about regarding grants to international students. It is NOT easy to find financing for _undergraduate_ education in the US if you're from another country. You do NOT qualify for government loans at all and there is a limited number of scholarships for foreigners in general.

But you weren't asking about financing, just application and admission.

Most schools have separate applications for students from another country. These may differ by school.

That said, you will likely need the following for all schools:
- an official transcript from your high school with your grades
- recommendation letters from teachers attesting to your abilities and potential
- standardized test scores (SAT, ACT)
- personal statement, essay responding to some questions (one is likely about what you want to accomplish in college/what your interests are)

Check out information from the website of the school of your choice through the International student link.If you are an undergraduate then it wouldn't be difficult but if you are not but entering university for the first time, you might need SAT OR ACT test scores.it's better you consult your prospective school for information.
