first, did you get it edited? because you will have to do that first. try the local yellowpages for an editor. you will nedd a query letter. which is like a cover page for your book...3 paragraphs, one a sumary, two is your marketing ideas, three is your credentials as a writer. start looking to get the copyright now...http://www.copyright.gov/ (us) look for publisher in your genre. but be prepared, amny will not publish things from first time authors without an agent. (same with some, more public editors) and many agents won't represent you unless you have had soething published before. and you will need to send it to several publishers, because as much as we hate to think of it, there are just those people out there who aren't going to like it. but keep trying and eventually it'll get there. many writers say the avergae time it takes to get a book publoshed from beginning writing stage to being at a ppublishers is about 10 years.

Go to the library and get a book called Writers Market...its a hardcover, it has all kinds of resources and info you need to get into the publishing market.
