Music has always seemed to help me when I'm grieving and sad. My grandmother died yesterday, and I'm taking it really hard. If you know of any songs that could help in this situation, could you please list them for me? The only one I know of is This is Not Goodbye by Melissa Etheridge.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss...when my grandfather died, this song was one that I listened to over and over:

If I Had Only Known
Reba McIntyre

If I had only known
It was the last walk in the rain
I'd keep you out for hours in the storm
I would hold your hand
Like a lifeline to my heart
Underneath the thunder we'd be warm
If I had only known
It was our last walk in the rain

If I had only known
I'd never hear your voice again
I'd memorize each thing you ever said
And on those lonely nights
I could think of them once more
Keep your words alive inside my head
If I had only know
I'd never hear your voice again

You were the treasure in my hand
You were the one who always stood beside me
So unaware I foolishly believed
That you would always be there
But then there came a day
And I turned my head and you slipped away

If I had only known
It was my last night by your side
I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn
And when you'd smile at me
I would look into your eyes
And make sure you knew my love
For you goes on and on
If I had only known
If I had only known
The love I would've shown
If I had only known

Songs like:
Goodbye my lover- James Blunt
and
Yesterday and the Long and Winding Road by the Beatles
are all really good songs.
For like, months after my boyfriend and I broke up (we recently got back together), I couldn't listen to Goodbye My Lover without crying. . .

I don't like songs like that- it makes me start crying. My baby died yrs ago, and when I hear Tears From Heaven- I start to tear up. I would rather not have any songs or words- just empty, let my mind think about something else.

Honey, and Oh Where Oh Where Can My Baby Be

Honey by Hank Snow

See the tree how big it's grown but friends it hasn't been too long it wasn't big
I laughed at her and she got mad the first day that she planted it was just a twig
Then the first snow came and she ran out to brush the snow away so it wouldn't die
Came running in all excited slipped and almost hurt herself and I laughed till I cried
She was always young at heart kinda dumb and kinda smart and I loved her so
I surprised her with a puppy kept me up all Christmas Eve two years ago
And it would sure embarrass her when I came home from working late cause I would know
That she'd been sitting there and crying over some sad and silly late late show
And honey I miss you and I'm being good and I'd love to be with you if only I could
She wrecked the car and she was sad so afraid that I'd be mad but what the heck
Though I pretended hard to be guess you could say she saw through me and hugged my neck
I came home unexpectedly and found her crying needlessly in the middle of the day
And it was in the early spring when flowers bloom and robins sing she went away
And honey I miss you and I'm being good and I'd love to be with you if only I could
Yes one day whle I wasn't home while she was there and all alone the angels came
Now all I have is memories of honey and I wake up nights and call her name
Now my life's an empty stage where honey lived and honey played and love grew up
A small cloud passes overhead and cries down on the flower bed where honey loved
And honey I miss you and I'm being good and I'd love to be with you if only I could

Oh Where Oh Where Can My Baby Be

Oh where, oh where, can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven so I've got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

We were out on a date in my daddy's car,
We hadn't driven very far.
There in the road straight ahead,
A car was stalled, the engine was dead.
I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right,
I'll never forget the sound that night.
The screaming tires, the busting glass,
The painful scream that I heard last.

Oh where, oh where, can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven so I've got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

When I woke up, the rain was falling down,
There were people standing all around.
Something warm flowing through my eyes,
But somehow I found my baby that night.
I lifted her head, she looked at me and said;
"Hold me darling just a little while."
I held her close I kissed her - our last kiss,
I found the love that I knew I had missed.
Well now she's gone even though I hold her tight,
I lost my love, my life that night.

Oh where, oh where, can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven so I've got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

wish You were right here and massive Gig contained in the Sky, by pink Floyd, because the Years bypass Passing by.. Albert King. Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix. those would help. i comprehend purely the way you experience I lost a canines that became my perfect pal too, he became the purely human being who might want to cheer me up even as i became feeling down, he might want to study my ideas and comprehend precisely what to do to make me experience extra useful. seem at some images once you've them and save in ideas
