I need a poem thats about two people that are in love but cant be together.

I once fell for a petal
With me she'd ne'er settle

I once fell for a bud
It settled in mud

I once fell for a leaf
For her my heart did seep

The artwork I put with this was a beautiful rose on the front, on the inside I used parts of the rose as the backdrop for each separate limerick. It got a very good rating around valentines day with Hallmark back in the late '70's. Best of wishes and good luck!!

John Donne's "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning" is about a husband leaving his wife to travel abroad...if that works for what you need. It likens their love as celestial and golden and above the base need for physical contact.
