Which is better The Pill or The Shot? I think its the shot (3 out of 100) vs. the pill (8 out of 100). Which do u think is better for preventing pregnancy? Which has the lease or...less severe side effects?

over all effect of controlling pregnancy is basically same but pill`s effectiveness can be affected by concurrent illness-fever,diarrhoea. so i would say shot is very good in preventing pregnancy but menstrual irregularities is the concern and fertility may take time to return.so ur choice depends on various factors like ur age,concurrent illnesses and medication,recent child birth and lactation.Ur Dr can play a role in selecting a appropriate choice to u.

I've known several people who've taken the depo shot and not one who's had good long term results. The side effects the people I've known who've had it include (but are not limited to): weight gain, cramping (from minor to extreme), spotting, nausea, increased acne, irregular periods when they stopped the shot. Then there's the fact that it takes up to 6 months (more in some cases) for the effects to be over. The best bet is to have all the info you can get. My sister found a lot of info at the link noted. They are both about equally effective when used correctly. Depo-Provera is a little more "idiot-proof" than the pill because it doesn't require daily remembering. They both have a relatively low incidence of side effects, but each woman is different so it may take some trial and error to find the right one for you. Talk to your doctor, and get something. If it has undesirable effects, keep going to your doctor until you find something that works best for you. Even if you're on a reliable birth control, it's important always to use condoms to prevent STDs. But don't use two latex condoms together; they're more likely to rub together and they'll both tear.

They both have basically the same side effects because they're both the same hormones.
The pill is easier to take than a shot.
I'd say they are equal in preventing pregnancy, but the Pill is better because you have better access to it. You have to get the shot at the doctor's office. You can't always get to the doctor's office. The pill is always nearby.

The pill. If u have problems remembering taking the pill then maybe u can try some other form or BC, such as nouvo ring, the patch, etc, but I don't recommend the shot to any one.. that's just my opinion.

I had a friend on Depo Provera and she had terrible mood swings (laughing and crying at the same time!) and weight gain. She also had an increase in facial hair. I don't know if this would happen with everyone, but it sure did to her. I like taking the pill personally.

Neither, both are unhealthy for you. They can irritate your cycle and cause nasty stomach problems.
